You can say it’s just my opinion but I’ve been to a LOT of shows this past year, every conceivable style of music from metal to country to techno to punk and right now it’s got to be Americana style ensemble 'The Everybodyfields' Who are giving the most impressive performances and songwriting at the moment. Now Featured in 'The Listening Room.'

GFE is more serious, style & socially conscious than MC Frontalot and obsessive over their particular brand of space age spirituality. G.F.E .,which also stands for “God Force Energy” amongst many other things is a REAL touring band with drums, guitars, & horns as well as the large posse of hip hop DJ and rapper personas who take turns dishing out the jams. Rumor has it they recently shared the stage with George Clinton in New Orleans who also appears on their newest CD “Bigger than it Really Is”

An Epiphany of Harmonies
The Everybodyfields Press release and Interview. Appalachian traditional style ORIGINAL music with stunning vocal harmonies and world class songwriting comes to New York City. Read about this stellar ensemble and listen to their live music online through links on this page. Article titled An Epiphany of Harmonies, The Everybodyfields come to New York by Robin Merritt, an Interview with The Everybodyfields and photos by Jacob Anderson. After seeing dozens of major label and unknown groups of every style this year, The Everybodyfields, in my opinion, are in the position of the best live ensemble out of every style as well as having the two best recordings and becoming some of the top songwriters in the country. Reminiscent of Neil Young, The Byrds and Patsy Cline. Sarah Alden of Luminescent Orchestrii joins The Everybodyfields for their New York performances.

At this point in history it's imperative that any band that has a CD out pick at least a couple of songs for release to be played to the public for free. For each new CD that's released the artists/producers/labels should select one or two songs which they consider to be their most accessable “Radio” songs. Once selected these songs should be made available to every conceivable broadcast outlet on the planet, including radio stations and internet web cast sites.

Charles' songwriting has a strange, tingly effect on me. The songs are SO melodious and almost too sweet for most of my rock 'n roll pals, But the guy really has got soul and a wonderful voice. You can listen to most all of his recorded music (minus my very favorite cuts from the “Braced in the Beams” CD) through his website, which is linked through “The Listening Room.”

Samantha is one of my top finds since beginning to scour the music scene for relatively unknown artists with high levels of talent. Between her regular gigs at L.A. music showcase, The Mint. Her regular podcast on www.SamanthaMurphy.com and her songwriting, she has found time to appear on The Tonight Show, Be Sponsored by Gibson Guitars and put together one of the finest pop/female vocal CD’s of the past few years. Samantha has a spectacular voice and every time I re-listen to her new CD I keep being amazed at just how enjoyable it is. The Songs on Somewhere between Starving and Stardom chronicle the joys and challenges that anyone who has ever tried to live a creative lifestyle in this country can strongly relate to. Her approach is always upbeat in a way that shows off sparkling talent rather than lamenting over the hardships facing creative artists in our over commercialized music environment. Samantha is gracious enough to come and play for us here in Chattanooga on Saturday Sept. 24 in a solo performance along with Justin Karpinos at Barking Legs, and again on Oct. 15, along with Jennifer Brantley and The Little Country Giants at The Barking legs theatre.
